Samsung’s new Watch design and phone chip plans

Samsung

Samsung is gearing up for big changes in 2025 with its Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and Galaxy S26 series. The Watch 8 Classic might bring back the fan-favorite rotating bezel, a feature missed by many users. Leaks from a recent software update suggest a new “squircle” design, blending square and circular shapes, similar to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. A “Quick Button” could also be added, letting users customize actions like starting workouts or opening apps, making the watch more user-friendly.

Meanwhile, Samsung is planning to use its own Exynos 2600 chip for the Galaxy S26 series, but only in Europe due to production limits. Other regions will likely get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip. This shift comes after Samsung used Snapdragon for the Galaxy S25 globally, as the Exynos 2500 faced manufacturing issues. The Exynos 2600 aims to be more energy-efficient, but some worry it may not match Snapdragon’s performance, sparking debates among fans.

These updates show Samsung’s focus on fresh designs and homegrown tech. The Watch 8 Classic’s new look and features could excite smartwatch fans, while the Exynos 2600’s return marks a bold move for Samsung’s phones. Both projects will likely be unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event in July 2025, stirring anticipation for what’s next.
