Samsung updates software plan for May 2025

Samsung has shared its software update plan for May 2025, making small changes to keep Galaxy devices secure and up to date. The company is focused on providing regular security patches to protect phones and tablets from new threats.
This month, Samsung slightly adjusted which devices get updates and how often, ensuring users enjoy a smooth and safe experience. The monthly update list, covering top models like the Galaxy S and Z series, stays the same as April 2025.
These devices get security fixes every month to stay protected. For quarterly updates, Samsung now includes 88 devices, adding the Galaxy A26 5G while removing the Galaxy A52 and XCover Pro. This list covers many Galaxy S, Note, A, M, F, and Tab models, plus some business-focused devices.
The biannual update list, for older or budget devices, dropped from 21 to 20 devices, with the Galaxy A82 5G no longer included. The May 2025 security update fixes several issues in Android and Samsung’s One UI software, keeping devices safe.
Users can check for updates by going to Settings > Software Update on their Galaxy device. Samsung’s steady updates show its commitment to keeping all kinds of Galaxy devices secure and reliable, from flagship phones to affordable models.
