Galaxy S25 Edge launches solo, skips Ultra’s fancy screen tech

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung is rolling out the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13, 2025, as a standalone star in the S25 lineup. Unlike the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, it won’t boast the S25 Ultra’s ProScaler display, which uses AI to boost lower-resolution images to near-FHD clarity.

Instead, the Edge sports a crisp 2K Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling. The S25 Edge stands out with its ultra-slim 5.8mm titanium body and ceramic back, making it the sleekest Galaxy S-series phone yet.

It’s equipped with a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP or 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 3900mAh battery supporting 25W charging. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, it matches the S25 series’ speed and runs Android 15 with One UI 7 for a seamless, modern feel.

Samsung’s giving the Edge its spotlight to show off its featherlight design, appealing to those who love slim phones. Priced around $1099, it slots between the S25 Plus and Ultra. It’ll first launch in markets like South Korea and China, with a global release by May 30.

This strategy lets Samsung gauge interest in the slim design, potentially shaping future phones like the S26 series. Even without ProScaler, the S25 Edge offers a premium vibe and strong performance, making it a chic pick for Galaxy enthusiasts.
