Samsung Health’s new way to monitor beta carotene

Samsung

Samsung is introducing an exciting addition to its Samsung Health app called the Antioxidant Scan. This feature will let you check your body’s beta carotene levels, a key nutrient in foods like spinach and pumpkins that supports your well-being. Look out for this tool in late 2025, possibly launching with the Galaxy Watch 8.

Using it is simple: just press your thumb against the back of your Galaxy Watch. The watch’s sensors will analyze your skin to measure beta carotene levels without any pain or needles. After the scan, the app will show if your levels are on track or need a boost and suggest foods to improve your diet.

The Antioxidant Scan was teased during the Galaxy S25 event in early 2025, with more details uncovered in a recent One UI 8 Watch update leak. It’s unclear if older Galaxy Watches will support this feature, so the Galaxy Watch 8 might be required. Samsung’s goal is to make health tracking easy and stress-free, empowering you to eat smarter and live healthier with this user-friendly tool.
