One UI 8 Watch and phone updates bring exciting AI features

Samsung One UI 8

Samsung is gearing up for big changes with its upcoming One UI 8 Watch and One UI 8 updates, based on Wear OS 6 and Android 16. These updates promise to make Galaxy devices smarter and more user-friendly. For Galaxy Watch users, One UI 8 Watch introduces Google’s Gemini AI, replacing the older Google Assistant.

This new AI makes voice commands easier, letting you interact with your watch hands-free. The update also brings modern app icons inspired by One UI 7, with bright colors and a clean look. New sounds, including an updated “Over the Horizon” ringtone, add a fresh feel.

The Galaxy Watch 8 series might launch with this software in July 2025, with a beta program starting soon for Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra users. On the phone side, One UI 8 enhances the Now Bar, a lock screen feature that shows real-time updates like call details or music playback.

Leaks suggest it could include a Do Not Disturb toggle for quick access. The update also refines the user interface with smoother animations and a frosted, semi-transparent design for menus and settings.

Samsung is already testing One UI 8 on devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with a beta program expected by June 2025. These updates show Samsung’s focus on blending AI and sleek design to improve how we use our devices. Stay tuned for more details as the launch gets closer.
