A survey showed that 49% of Android users are considering switching to Apple iPhones because they are “believed to have advantages” in terms of security and privacy. Additionally, Consumer Reports says it feels safer to use the iPhone 13 Pro Max than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Beyond Identity surveyed 1,003 Americans about their mobile phone security habits and sentiments. The survey shows that 76% of Apple users feel more secure with iOS. In comparison, 74% of Android users feel the same way.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max feels much more secure than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, according to each smartphone’s user base survey. In fact, many iPhone 13 owners say their smartphones are the safest they’ve ever used.
The study’s key findings also show how cloud services affect Apple iOS and Android users:

20% of iCloud Keychain users feel very secure, while only 13% of Google Password Manager users feel the same;

27% of Apple users feel very secure using iCloud, and 22% of Google Drive users feel the same way.
Thanks to the appeal of the upcoming iOS 16 system, 33% of Android users are considering switching to Apple iPhones, according to the survey, thanks to the newly released operating system’s improved security features. One of the top security features of this operating system is Lockdown Mode.
Research shows that iPhone users are also more proactive about digital security, and they are more likely to choose a six-digit passcode instead of a four-digit passcode to unlock their phone.
iPhone users also prefer to monitor their location tracking and use facial recognition — no Android phone offers the same technology as Apple.
Last but not least, respondents were asked to share their experiences of security breaches on iPhone and Android phones. The study found:
“Apple and Android users are no strangers to hacking and security breaches: 40% or more of both groups have experienced a malware attack or cyber scam. Yet again, Apple has an advantage: their more Users report never experiencing a security breach of any kind. When a data breach does occur, they are 20 percent more likely to fully recover lost data compared to Android users. However, Apple users may feel a little too safe because they are more likely to report their phones lost frequently – often as many as six or more times in the past six months.”
