According to the latest report, as demand for smartphone APs has leveled off, IC test interface suppliers in Taiwan, including China Precision Testing (CHPT), are working to strengthen multiple segments beyond mobile phones.

These suppliers are extending their reach into areas such as memory controllers, networking, and high-performance computing chips, all of which are in high demand. Optimistic about the demand for SSD modules in data center and enterprise server applications.
Moreover, memory makers in the U.S. and Japan are expanding their procurement of NAND controller ICs from Taiwanese suppliers, while also stepping up in-house development of high-end memory controllers, and sources said. Controller shortages limit the assembly of SSD modules.
Furthermore, the supply of memory controller chips is constrained, partly because of limited foundry capacity available, and partly because of the continued tight supply of the ABF substrates needed to support BGA packages for such chips, the sources noted, adding that the supply of such chips maybe it won’t improve until the second half of 2022.
The source also added that HPC chips are another market segment that could provide test interface suppliers with growth opportunities in 2022.
