Moreover, Intel said the acquisition of Granulate will help cloud and data center users optimize computing workload performance and reduce infrastructure and cloud computing costs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed at this time.

Over the past year, Intel and Granulate have signed a commercial partnership agreement to collaborate on workload optimization on Xeon deployments. Intel said the partnership not only improves performance for users of Intel processors, but also reduces costs.

Furthermore, the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions. At that time, approximately 120 employees of Granulate will join Intel’s Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group.
