If you have a spreadsheet where you want to view the current date (with or without time), you can easily do this in Google Sheets. This is convenient when you want to always display the date and time when you open the worksheet.
The advantage of these date and time features in Google Sheets is that you can format them as you like. It can make your worksheet work normally and present it the way you want.
One thing to note is that every time you open the spreadsheet, the function you use will automatically update.
Insert the Current Date and Time
- If you prefer to display the current date with the time, you’ll use the NOW function.
- Select the cell where you want the current date and time and type.
- Hit Enter or Return or click the screen tip to display the format for the date and time.
- Then, press Enter or Return to apply the function.
