How to activate Google Assistant from power button in Android 12 (Beta)?

As you know, Google has released its latest version of Android, which is Android 12. Its user interface has undergone a comprehensive revision with richer colors and is based on what Google calls “Material You”.

In addition to the new design, Android 12 also has many new features that Android users strongly demand. Today, we will discuss one of the features that were just launched on Android 12.

Activate Google Assistant from Power Button

  • On Android 12, Google has enabled another method of calling Google Assistant, which was previously achieved by swiping from any bottom corner, long-pressing the home screen button, or squeezing on a compatible phone.

Now, like newer iPhones it can be activated with a long press on the power button, this is not enabled by default, you need to enable it from settings.

Steps: 

  • Jump into your phone’s settings
  • Go to System
  • Under Gestures, click on the power menu
  • Enable the Hold for Assistant toggle
