Honda will stop selling fuel vehicles in 2040, and strive to get zero fatalities in 2050

Honda Motor’s CEO Toshihiro Mibu announced yesterday that electric vehicle EVs and fuel cell vehicles FCV will account for 100% of sales by 2040 in order to achieve carbon neutrality goals.

Honda will strive to achieve 40% of the sales of electric vehicle EVs and fuel cell vehicles FCV by 2030, and 80% by 2035.

The official said that it will be committed to the research and development of the: Architecture electric vehicle platform, and is expected to launch the first electric vehicle based on the: Architecture platform in the late 1920s.

Honda will also use GM’s Ultrium battery system and is developing two electric SUVs. Additionally, Honda will also equip all cars with ADAS  by 2030, and strive to achieve zero fatalities by 2050.
