US Federal Trade Commission has launched an in-depth investigation into Nvidia’s agreement to acquire Arm

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has released an in-depth investigation into Nvidia’s contract to acquire Arm.

In addition to the FTC investigation, Google’s parent company Alphabet, Qualcomm and Microsoft have also filed complaints or objected to the US antitrust regulators regarding this transaction.

The arm has many customers, including Intel, Nvidia, Apple, Qualcomm, Samsung, etc., and of course Nvidia. Nvidia CEO Huang Renxun has announced that Nvidia will maintain Arm’s open authorization model, and has no intention of restricting any customers, nor does it intend to reject any customers.

Nvidia stated on September 13 last year that they had reached a final agreement to acquire Arm with SoftBank Group, with a transaction size of US$40 billion and it is expected to complete the transaction within 18 months.

Currently, the Federal Trade Commission’s investigation has entered the ‘second phase’, and US regulators have asked SoftBank, Nvidia, and Arm to give more data.
