Canon might launch a 90MP camera in 2021, and Sony with 102MP full-frame sensor

In the year 2021, the rivalry between Canon and Sony in the digital camera market will intensify, and the megapixel race will enter a new round. Nikon and companies promoting L-mount cameras will be among the laggards.

Sony is rumored to release an E-mount camera capable of shooting 8K video. Canon is credited with intending to release the 90MP EOS-R5s. This camera will have a Pixel Shift Shooting mode that will produce images with a resolution of 300 megapixels.

Perhaps Sony will respond with the release of the high-resolution Sony A7rV, for which the manufacturer has a suitable 102MP full-frame sensor. It allows you to shoot 6K videos. Preliminary sensor specs were leaked in 2019 and in this case, the source implies an improved version of this product.

However, it is not yet clear if the Sony A7rV camera will be released in 2021. The source is more confident that there are plans to release the A9III (or A9r) and A7IV models.
