Apple MacBook to Hit 15.5M Shipments in 2020, and will rise sharply in 2021

According to the data shared by the research company Finaria, Apple is expected to sell more MacBook notebook computers in 2021, and the total shipment is estimated to reach 17.1 million units.

At the same time, Finaria expects that its performance in 2020 will not be much worse. Although the world has just had a pretty magical year, the Cupertino-based technology giant ushered in a 23% year-on-year growth, and it is expected to ship 15.5 million MacBooks in 2020.

Data shows that during the lockdown period, the global demand for PCs and laptops has ushered in a substantial increase. It is not difficult to imagine that, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, many people have turned to telecommuting and online teaching, which in turn boosted the surge in sales of such equipment.

Although in the first quarter of 2020, Apple Mac sales fell by 6% (to 3.5 million units) from the same period last year. But in the second quarter, this number increased to 4.3 million units (a year-on-year increase of 5%), and in the third quarter, it reached 5.5 million units (a year-on-year increase of 7%).

At the same time, the iPhone is still the company’s top line of revenue, contributing up to 40.9% of the 2020 Q4 fiscal quarter’s profit. This is followed by services (22.5%), smart home and wearable accessories (12.5%), and iPad (10.5%).

Looking ahead to 2021, it is reported that Apple will launch a new MacBook, a new generation of iPhone in September, and a new iPad Pro that is expected to be launched in the spring.
