This collaboration with Samsung started back in 2018 and has since expanded to include the Chicago Fire Department (CFD). Now, both police and firefighters benefit from Samsung’s technology, enabling them to respond more effectively to the city’s emergencies.
Before the adoption of these smartphones, officers had to deal with cumbersome laptops in their cars. Now, with the Galaxy smartphones, all necessary tools are at their fingertips. Officers can quickly access databases, check event permits, or report city maintenance issues like broken streetlights or potholes directly from their phones.
The implementation of these devices has also streamlined the setup process for new equipment. Thanks to Samsung Knox, the time to configure new phones has been reduced by 75%, easing the workload on the city’s IT staff and freeing up more time for officers to perform their duties.
