YouTube Music sleep timer is now rolling out

Youtube Music has made many improvements recently. A generic sleep timer is now being added on YouTube Music app.

It now appears for songs at the bottom of the full Now Playing list, which gets long after the addition of View song credits. The development of the sleep timer was first spotted in July last year.

The sleep timer hasn’t been widely implemented yet, and it happens when YouTube Music also makes real-time lyrics available on both Android and iOS. Earlier this week Grid View is now available to all users.

In mid-December, YouTube Music polled users about the features they wanted to see – Options include sleep timer, improved lyrics, better recommendations and background playback. The background playback option received landslide response and we are still waiting for it to be released outside of Canada. It’s not clear what the “best recommendations” might include, as it appears to be an ongoing improvement.
