A large number of fans began to protest, demanding that Nintendo not shut down the Wii U and 3DS eShops, but Nintendo seems to have no intention of giving in. Nintendo has scheduled maintenance on the “Nintendo eShop” from 04:30 UTC to 06:30 UTC on August 30th.

During this maintenance period, Nintendo is expected to further advance its plan to shut down the Wii U and 3DS eShops in stages. Nintendo previously stated that after August 29th, users will no longer be able to recharge/purchase digital funds, and now it seems that the new plan has been extended to August 30th. Then, the Wii U and 3DS eShops will shut down completely on March 27, 2023.

Moreover, the Nintendo 3DS is a portable game console launched by Nintendo from 2011 to 2020. It is the follow-up model of the Nintendo DS. The biggest feature is the introduction of parallax barrier technology to achieve a naked-eye 3D-like effect.

There are five derivative models of the Nintendo 3DS, namely the large-screen version Nintendo 3DS XL (called LL in Japan) released in July 2012; the cheap model Nintendo 2DS released in Europe and the United States in October 2013; released in Japan in October 2014 The New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS LL/XL; and the New Nintendo 2DS XL from July 2017.

In addition, Wii U is a home game console launched by Nintendo after the Wii. It is the successor of the Wii. It was first announced on June 7, 2011, and the development code was “Project Café”. The Wii U is the first home console in Nintendo’s history to support 1080p resolution, and it comes with 2 GB of RAM and uses half of the Wii U’s operating system.
