Samsung unveiled detailed specifications of Exynos 1280 SoC

Samsung has now officially released the Exynos 1280 chip, but Samsung has previously launched Galaxy A mid-range phones equipped with this chip, such as Galaxy A33, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy M33.

Samsung Exynos 1280 Specifications:

Process: 5nm EUV

CPU: 2 Cortex-A78 @2.4Ghz + 6 Cortex-A55 @2.0GHz, 64bit.

GPU: ARM Mali-G68

AI: AI engine with NPU, 4.3 TOPS.

Modem: 5G NR Sub-6GHz + 5G NR mmWave 1, 2.55 Gbps DL, 1.28 Gbps UL, Global 5G, Multi-SIM Support.

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 802.11ac MIMO dual-band (2.4/5G).

Video: Up to 108 MP for a single camera, 16 MP for the triple camera, 4K video @30fps recording and playback.

Display: FHD+ @120 Hz

Memory: LPDDR4x

Storage: UFS v2.2

Others: Bluetooth 5.2, FM Radio Rx, four major positioning systems for L1 and L5 GNSS.

To put it simply, the chip is based on Samsung’s 5nm EUV process, with an octa-core CPU design, consisting of two Cortex-A78 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 performance cores. The GPU is the public version of Arm Mali-G68, which supports sub- 6GHz and mmWave 5G connectivity.

Moreover, this chip is optimized with Fused Multiply-Add (FMA), which can bring better battery life performance. The built-in NPU can also support AI functions such as scene segmentation, real-time motion analysis, and multi-target monitoring.
