MediaTek issued a press release today, announcing that it has become the first TV chip supplier to support Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail. It is an innovative feature specially launched for smart TVs with Dolby Vision IQ.

Moreover, MediaTek says the new feature is supported by all 8K and 4K chips in its Pentonic line of smart TV platforms. In addition, the MediaTek Pentonic series also supports Dolby Vision gaming functions and other functions, and it is expected that these latest technologies will be provided to TV manufacturers in the second half of 2022.
It is reported that Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail can make the bright part and dark part of the picture show more precise details at the same time, and the enhanced texture and layering make the image more accurate on 8K and 4K TVs excellent sharpness.
In other respects, the MediaTek Pentonic series of TV chips also support Dolby Vision gaming functions, such as 4K 120Hz Dolby Vision, Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate Technology (VRR), and more.
In addition, MediaTek will launch Intelligent View technology, which combined with Dolby technology can process multiple Dolby Vision image sources at the same time, so that different Dolby Vision content can be viewed in multiple windows at the same time.
