Hyundai will produce IONIQ 5 electric car at Indonesian plant

According to the latest report, Hyundai Motor announced on its official website that their plant in Indonesia will produce the IONIQ 5 electric vehicle. As the only plant of Hyundai Motor in Southeast Asia, the cars produced by Hyundai Motor Indonesia Plant are mainly sold in the Indonesian market or exported to other neighboring Southeast Asian markets.

Therefore, the electric vehicles produced by this factory are mainly supplied to the local market and neighboring countries. Moreover, Hyundai Motor Indonesia’s factory, located in the Deltamas Industrial Park near Tskarang, about 40 kilometers east of the country’s capital Jakarta, is one of 18 Hyundai Motor’s factories and one of their 11 overseas factories. 

Furthermore, this plant of Hyundai Motor in Indonesia has an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. They plan to invest another 1.92 trillion won to increase the annual production capacity to 250,000 vehicles. But the report did not mention when Hyundai Motor will start investing to expand production capacity at its Indonesian plant.
