According to the latest report, Sony plans to merge PlayStation Plus members and PS Now cloud game subscriptions into one service, which will be similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to improve product competitiveness.
An anonymous person revealed to Bloomberg that the name of the new service is codenamed “Sparticus”, which will combine the two previous services into one.
Moreover, the current subscription price for the Sony PlayStation Plus subscription service is US$10 per month or US$60 per year. After subscribing to the service, players can enjoy monthly free games, multiplayer online games, and exclusive member discounts for multiple games.

The full name of PS Now is PlayStation Now, and the price is the same as the previous subscription. Players can play a variety of PS4, PS3, and PS2 games on PS4, PS5, and PC platforms, up to 4K resolution. Recently, Sony has also introduced options for downloading and local play for this service.

The Revealer said that Sparticus will be launched in the spring of 2022 while retaining PlayStation Plus, but gradually canceling the PlayStation Now service.
