LTPS LCD panel’s share increasing in notebooks and car display: Omdia 

Omdia released a report saying that the share of car display panels using LTPS LCD is increasing.

The report pointed out that the production of automotive display panels is shifting to the a-Si 5. x generation line and the LTPS 6 generation lineBOE, Sharp, Panasonic LCD (to be closed in 2022), and Huaxing Optoelectronics will be produced in 8. x generation plants in the future.

In addition, automotive display panels and notebook display panels are replacing smartphone display panels and have become the main application of the LTPS LCD production line.

Omdia said that JDI, Sharp, LG Display, and AU Optronics have quickly shifted their business focus to the LTPS in-cell touch market, while BOE, Innolux, and Tianma have moved away from a-Si capacity due to their larger a-Si capacity. -Si started its in-cell touch business.
