Samsung’s new Foldable phones set for 2025

Samsung Tri-Fold

Samsung is gearing up for its next big smartphone launch in 2025, focusing on its foldable devices. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will reportedly use Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chip, a first for its foldable lineup, which has always relied on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips. Mass production for the Z Flip 7 is expected to start in May, with Samsung aiming to produce 200,000 units by June.

This move could help Samsung cut costs and boost its chip-making business, even though the Exynos 2500’s production yields are lower than ideal. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to stick with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, ensuring top performance for Samsung’s premium foldable.

This decision might appeal to fans who prefer the Snapdragon’s reliability, especially since the Z Fold 7 is one of Samsung’s most expensive models. Samsung also hinted at a new tri-fold phone during its recent earnings call, suggesting a possible launch later in 2025.

This device, with a larger 9.9-inch screen, could bring fresh innovation to Samsung’s foldable range. It may first launch in select markets with limited stock before a broader release in 2026. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 are expected to debut at a Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025, alongside other devices like a new Galaxy Watch. Samsung’s push for new designs and chips shows its commitment to leading the foldable phone market.
