Samsung, known worldwide for its smartphones, is also a leader in mobile networks. Its network division, Samsung Networks, supports the 5G connections of some of the largest telecom companies. Now, Samsung has plans to incorporate AI into 6G networks to enhance service quality.
Samsung Believes AI Will Enhance 6G Network Quality
Following the latest tech trends, Samsung is set to enhance 6G networks with AI. After their initial whitepaper on 6G in 2020, they released another one discussing how AI can be integrated throughout the telecom system to boost network quality and sustainability.
Samsung’s Vision for 6G
In their latest document, Samsung outlines how 6G could transform everyday life. They suggest that 6G will enhance experiences in entertainment, healthcare, and research through better XR (Extended Reality) applications. Additionally, 6G is expected to advance Digital Twin technology, where a virtual model mirrors a real-world object or system.
Samsung also predicts that 6G will support massive communication, ensuring seamless connectivity among numerous devices, sensors, and machines. They highlight the concept of Ubiquitous Connectivity, which would merge traditional land-based networks with satellite communications.
Advantages of AI in 6G
The integration of AI in 6G is also expected to improve Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), offering internet connectivity similar to wired services but without cables. Samsung believes this approach will lower costs and expand service coverage.
Samsung anticipates that the standards for 6G will be set by around 2030, meaning we might start seeing 6G networks roll out in about five years. This forward-thinking approach by Samsung could redefine how we connect and interact in the future.
