Samsung has improved the battery-saving features on their Galaxy phones with the latest One UI 7 update, fixing a common annoyance for users. When your phone’s battery drops to 5%, it used to make the screen very dark, which could be really inconvenient if you needed to see what you were doing, like texting or calling.
Now, with the update, there’s a new choice. You can stop the phone from making the screen so dark when the battery is almost out. This option comes with the One UI 7 Beta 3. It helps you decide if you want to save battery or keep your screen bright enough to use.
The update lets you turn off the feature that dims your screen at 5% battery. This means you won’t have to struggle with a barely visible screen when you’re down to the last bit of juice. The stable version of One UI 7 is now on the new Galaxy S25 phones. If you have a Galaxy S24, you can try the Beta version in seven countries. The full rollout for the S24 series is expected to begin soon.
This update, built on Android 15, will also come to older Samsung phones, making battery management better. While turning off the dimming might use up the battery faster, it’s a big relief for anyone tired of their screen going almost black when they need it most.
