Google appears to be testing a new wallet icon, signaling that a new era of Google Pay is on the horizon, with the service transforming from a payment option to a full digital wallet.
Compared to the logo currently used, the new wallet icon clearly shows a series of colorful cards inside a blue leather case, indicating its purpose is not just a payment solution, but also a place to put individual bank cards.
Moreover, a recent report from Bloomberg suggests that Google is looking to turn Google Pay into a “full-scale digital wallet” that allows users to manage digital tickets, air passes, and vaccine passports, as well as all the usual banking, all from one app.
