Volvo’s sales of new energy vehicles in March rose by 316.2% 

In the first quarter, as the supply chain problems plaguing the auto industry began to slowly ease, car sales gradually recovered, Volvo announced that global sales in the quarter were 148,295 vehicles, but due to the lack of specific semiconductor parts, production jobs are expected to be affected in the second quarter.

In March of this year, Volvo Cars’ sales of “rechargeable models” accounted for 35.5% of Volvo’s total global sales for the month. Sales of all-electric vehicles accounted for 9.0% of total sales. In the first quarter of this year, Volvo “charged car” sales accounted for 33.6% of total sales, while pure electric vehicles accounted for 7.9%.

Moreover, European car sales fell 30.4% to 26,954 in March, with new energy models accounting for more than half of Europe’s March total. In the first quarter of this year, Volvo Cars sold only 65,157 units in Europe, down 25.6% year-on-year.

In March of this year, Volvo US car sales reached 9,428 units, down 5.0% year-on-year. In the first quarter of this year, Volvo Cars sold 22,757 vehicles in the United States, down 16.5 percent from the same period last year.
