New leak reveals iPhone 14 will use the same A15 chip

Apple’s iPhone 14 series has begun to increase, and changes to the A-series chips, which are the normal digital iteration each year, may change next year. According to the revealer, not all iPhone 14 series phones in 2022 will upgrade their processors to A16, and iPhone 14 phones will continue to use the A15 chip of iPhone 13 this year.

However, industry sources recently revealed that Apple will launch two A16 Bionic processors, both of which will have a 6-core processor architecture but will be differentiated according to the number of GPU cores, and support 5G dual-band and a new generation of LPDDR5, WiFi 6E, etc. All technical specifications will be produced using TSMC’s 4nm process.

Earlier news broke that the high-end Apple iPhone 14 Pro series models launched in 2022 are expected to use perforated displays. The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max will use an upgraded display, which will abandon the notch used in the current iPhone models.

Moreover, the other two non-pro versions of the iPhone 14 series, the size of the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, will continue to use the notch, and Apple will limit the punching design to the more expensive iPhone Pro. Apple will cancel the 5.4-inch “iPhone mini” in 2022 and instead offer four iPhone 14 series lineups of 6.1 and 6.7 inches.

Furthermore, Apple will also purchase LTPO OLED displays for the iPhone 14 Pro models to achieve a ProMotion refresh rate of 120Hz. This technology has been used on this year’s iPhone 13 Pro models. Samsung provides Apple’s OLED panels for iPhone 13 Pro models, but Apple may purchase some displays from LG Display in 2022.

Besides, the sources predict that in the second half of 2022, the new iPhone (tentatively referred to as iPhone 14) will use a 48MP camera, while the new iPhone in the second half of 2023 will use a periscope lens.
