How to automatically silent your phone when you’re wearing Galaxy Watch?

Smartwatches are great for notifications. When someone texts you, there is no need to take your phone out of your pocket or wallet-just look at your wrist! It is very suitable for driving, walking, and other activities that need to be connected to the surrounding environment. It depends on your settings, but it will still distract you.

With the default settings of the Galaxy Watch and many phones, you will actually receive two notifications for each alert. The watch will buzz, but the phone will still beep and vibrate. This is annoying because it will fly by when it encounters a smartwatch in the best way, but as with most such things, you only need to change the settings to keep things right.

Compatibility

This works with all Samsung Galaxy smartwatches, including the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch 2, Galaxy Watch Active 2, and Galaxy Watch 3.

However, this will not work if your watch is paired with an iPhone only with Android devices. iOS is more restrictive in terms of what system settings apps can access, so the Galaxy Watch app simply can’t mute an iPhone.

Muting Your Phone When Your Watch Is Connected

First, open the Galaxy Wearable app for Android, then click the hamburger icon in the upper left corner, and select your Galaxy Watch from the side menu. After selecting, click the “Notification” option in the main menu of the watch.

After entering the notification menu, click “View all notification settings”, and then select “Mute connected phones” on the following screen. From there, enable the toggle switch at the top of the next menu, and everything is ready.

From now on, when you receive a notification, only your watch will beep or buzz-no repeated reminders on your phone! The sensor inside the watch can detect when you wear the watch, so when you remove the watch, the notifications on the phone will automatically resume with your volume and vibration settings.
