Apple supplier ASE begun to produce the optical sensors required by AirPods 3

As per the news, Apple will upgrade AirPods this year and release a new generation of AirPods 3 wireless headsets.

Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had predicted that AirPods 3 will be mass-produced in the third quarter and missed the Apple spring new product release.

However, the supply chain, Apple supplier ASE has begun to build the optical sensors required by AirPods 3. This means that the design of AirPods 3 has been built and will enter the mass production stage.

Based on the previous news from various sources, it is basically confirmed that the appearance and functions of the device will usher in a major upgrade. First of all, in terms of appearance, AirPods 3 has a lot of changes compared to the previous two generations.

The overall shape incorporates the design language of AirPods Pro and adopts a semi-in-ear solution. The overall shape is more ergonomically designed and should bring a more comfortable wearing experience.

By looking at the function, it is reported that AirPods 3 is expected to add ANC active noise reduction function, but because it does not adopt a better-closed ear design, the noise reduction effect may be weaker than AirPods Pro.

Moreover, the semi-in-ear design also brings a benefit, which can greatly improve the pressure of the previous AirPods Pro after long-term wear, and is more suitable for long-term use.

Additionally, the tipster also claimed that Apple will add a spatial audio function to AirPods 3. This function changes the position of the sound field with the movement of the user’s head, which can bring a more realistic sound experience.

As for the price, some people in the industry estimate that the price of AirPods 3 will be within 1,000 to 1,500 yuan, located between AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro that is more cost-effective, and the relatively low price can further popularize the market for noise-canceling headphones.
