Russia’s top luxury customization company Caviar officially launches their customized version of the gold-plated PS5, priced at 499.99 million US dollars, equivalent to about 3.23 million yuan.
This gold-plated PS5 is wrapped in 18K gold weighing 4.5 kg. Due to the difficulty of mass production, customers require to wait four months to get their gold-plated PS5. Additionally, although the gamepad is not gilded, it is also wrapped in high-end blackened crocodile leather to enhance the feel.
Caviar’s gold-plated PS5 has got 1,342 buying orders, and its customer base has many celebrities, like basketball superstar LeBron James and some American and Russian IT professionals.
If users want some cheaper customized PS5, Caviar can also give it. Currently on the Caviar official website, in addition to the gold-plated PS5, there are also crocodile leather versions and carbon fiber versions to select from.
Compared with the gold-plated version, the crocodile leather version and carbon fiber version are more affordable: the carbon fiber version starts at US$5,830 (equivalent to approximately RMB 37,726), and the crocodile leather version starts at US$ 8,140 .
It is important to note that all customized versions of PS5 are based on the digital version of PS5, and no optical drive is provided, so users cannot use PS5 discs bought from the second-hand market.
