Sonnet announces latest eGPU dock with AMD Radeon RX 5000 series GPU ,support for Pro Display XDR

Sonnet released the latest Breakaway Puck eGPU graphics card docking station that is much smaller than the former external graphics card expansion box including PCIe discrete graphics card, making it easier to use.

There are two versions of this product, furnished with AMD RX 5500 XT and RX 5700 GPUs. The RX 5500 XT version of the graphics card core has 1408 stream processors with a frequency of 1717MHz and is equipped with 4GB GDDR6 video memory.

The RX 5700 version GPU has 2304 stream processors with a frequency of 1725MHz and 8GB of GDDR6 video memory. Sonnet releases Breakaway Puck mini graphics card dock, equipped with AMD RX 5000 series graphics card.

The Breakaway Puck graphics card docking station has two Thunderbolt 3 ports for input and output respectively. It supports one line to connect to the monitor and provides a maximum power output of 60W.

When the graphics card uses the Thunderbolt 3 interface to output, it can support a maximum 6K resolution 60Hz display, or use a separate device to convert to two 4K 60Hz DP outputs.

It adopts DP 1.4 interface output and supports up to 4K 60Hz or 5120×1440 60Hz output. Use HDMI 2.0b interface output, also supports 4K 60Hz display.

Additionally, this product has two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A interfaces at the same time, powered by a dedicated 20V external power supply. The official stated that ‘laptops that do not support Apple’s M1 ARM chip’ may imply that future Apple M1 laptops can be upgraded to support eGPU external graphics cards.

This product is furnished with a 0.5m-long Thunderbolt 3 cable and a 230W external power supply. The product is only 15.2cm in length, 13cm in width, 5.1cm in height, and weighs only 2.18kg with a power supply, making it very portable. The price of the RX 5500 XT version is about 3885 yuan, and the RX 5700 version is about 5821 yuan.
