5G network speed evaluation in Taiwan: FarEasTone ranked first at 351.5Mbps

The market research company Opensignal recently released the “Taiwan 5G Network Experience Report in December 2020″, showing that FarEasTone ranked first at 351.5Mbps, Chunghwa Telecom at 254.2Mbps, Taiwan Big Brother at 236.5Mbps, and Taiwan Star at 150.9Mbps.

Chunghwa Telecom, who has always claimed to be the big brother in Taiwan’s telecommunications market, is a little bit frustrated. According to Taiwanese media reports, Chunghwa Telecom’s chairman Xie Jimao responded, “The sampling error in this report is relatively large, and it may be tested by another institution, and Chunghwa Telecom is the first.”

Chen Mingshi, general manager of Chunghwa Telecom’s mobile branch, said that Chunghwa Telecom used to be the number one, with a good 5G network foundation, solid stamina, and abundant resources, so it is not in a hurry to perform. “The way you know the horsepower” is the customer’s feelings.

However, Opensignal also released a report, in terms of 4G+5G, Chunghwa Telecom has the highest network speed. In July this year, Chunghwa Telecom first announced the commercialization of 5G in Taiwan, followed by operators such as FarEasy Telecom.
