Samsung quietly starts work on One UI 8.5

One UI 8

Samsung is now developing a new version of its software called One UI 8.5. A recent testing version of One UI 8 revealed the existence of One UI 8.5 in its programming. Even though Samsung has not revealed any information, it is likely that this version is in early development.

All Samsung Galaxy phones use the operating system called One UI. Later this year, Samsung will probably release One UI 8.0 on Android 15 phones along with the update. But since Samsung released One UI 8.5, it looks like the company has new features and improvements in mind, as it often adds more to its previous updates.

Earlier on, Samsung also introduced extra updates known as One UI 5.1 and One UI 6.1 that offered a few extra improvements, but they were small. Therefore, we could find similar improvements in One UI 8.5 after Android 15 is rolled out.

Android 14 is the basis for the leaked test firmware, but it mentions One UI 8.5. Samsung is making new updates in the background while also checking the current ones. No one knows yet what features One UI 8.5 will introduce. We might hear more from Samsung this year, likely after both the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have been released. In short, One UI 8.5 is in development and should reach Samsung users in no time.
