Samsung may use Apple’s new battery tech in future Galaxy phones

Samsung is reportedly thinking about using a new kind of battery technology that Apple might introduce with its upcoming iPhone 16 series. Apple is expected to change the battery design to improve heat management and make the battery last longer.

According to reports, Apple’s new battery will have a metal shell instead of the usual foil type. This change is supposed to help keep the battery cooler and more durable. Samsung could follow a similar idea for its future Galaxy smartphones.

Samsung SDI, which makes batteries for Galaxy devices, has already started testing this new battery design. If everything goes well, Samsung may begin using these upgraded batteries in the next Galaxy S25 series or possibly in the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

Using a metal battery case can help smartphones manage heat better, which is very important for performance and battery life. It might also make phones thinner and safer. Apple is reportedly working with Chinese company Desay to make this change possible. If Apple goes through with it, other smartphone makers, including Samsung, are likely to do the same.

In short, Samsung might take inspiration from Apple’s battery upgrade to improve its own devices. This move could lead to better performance and longer battery life in future Galaxy smartphones.
