Samsung’s One UI 7 update hits battery life on Galaxy S24 and Fold 6

One UI 7

Samsung recently rolled out its One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, for various Galaxy devices after months of anticipation. This major upgrade brings exciting additions like slicker animations, a fresh Now Bar on the lock screen, and dynamic notifications.

However, for some Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6 owners, the update has a downside: their phone batteries are draining much faster than before. On platforms like Reddit and Samsung’s community forums, users are voicing their concerns.

One S24 Ultra user shared that their device, which previously held 30% charge after eight hours on One UI 6.1, now needs recharging several times daily. A Z Fold 6 owner noted their battery now dips to 15-20% by evening, compared to 40-45% pre-update. Similar complaints have surfaced from Galaxy S23 and Z Flip 5 users too.

The issue likely stems from One UI 7’s new features or glitches that weren’t caught during testing. Some users recommend wiping the phone’s cache to ease the drain, while others believe the battery performance might stabilize after a few days.

Samsung hasn’t addressed the problem publicly yet, but owners are eager for a quick solution. If you’re considering the update, it might be wise to hold off. After installing One UI 7, monitor your device’s battery closely and watch for any upcoming fixes from Samsung to tackle this issue.
