Leaked video reveals unified notification bar for Galaxy Z Flip in One UI 8

A recent leak from X user Gamer0mega has revealed an upcoming feature in Samsung’s One UI 8 update, specifically for the Galaxy Z Flip. The leaked image shows a major change: the notification bar on the cover screen is now combined with the main notification bar. This aims to create a more seamless and user-friendly experience for foldable phone users.

The image shows a hand interacting with the flip cover screen, which displays “THU 1 MAY” along with the new unified notification bar. This change reflects Samsung’s ongoing push to improve its foldable devices, a journey that started back in 2019 with its first flip-style foldable phone. As noted by The Verge, Samsung’s original goal was to reinvent compact phone usage with foldable displays, and that vision continues with updates like One UI 8.

SamMobile adds that One UI 8, based on Android 16, focuses more on refining current features than introducing major changes. Samsung has a history of rolling out useful features early, like lock screen widgets in One UI 7 before they officially appear in Android 16.

By combining the two notification bars, Samsung is making it easier for Galaxy Z Flip users to stay informed and in control, even when the phone is folded. This update highlights Samsung’s commitment to blending smart software with its unique foldable hardware design.
