Samsung’s next big software update, One UI 8, built on Android 16, is set to enhance Galaxy phones with an improved RAM Plus feature. This tool could allow users to tap into up to 12GB of virtual RAM, using a portion of the device’s storage to act as extra memory.

This boost helps apps run more smoothly, supports seamless multitasking, and keeps more apps active in the background. Right now, RAM Plus offers up to 8GB of virtual memory, but One UI 8 might take it further for a noticeable performance lift.

The update could also give users more flexibility to adjust how much storage is dedicated to virtual RAM, letting them prioritize speed or save space as needed. This is especially exciting for budget or older Galaxy models with limited physical RAM, making them feel faster and more capable for tasks like gaming or juggling multiple apps.

One UI 8 is likely to enter testing in late 2025, with a full launch expected around mid-2026. Top-tier devices like the Galaxy S25 series will probably get it first, followed by other models. While details are still trickling in, this upgrade highlights Samsung’s push to make phones snappier and more user-friendly. Stay tuned to Samsung’s updates for the latest on One UI 8’s rollout and features.
