Galaxy S26 Ultra might not hit 5,500mAh

The excitement around the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery size has taken a hit. New whispers suggest that the much-talked-about 7,000mAh battery might just be a dream. Instead, the phone could come with a battery not even reaching 6,000mAh, possibly settling at around 5,500mAh according to leaks from Samsung’s test labs.
This might sound like a step back, but there’s still some good news. The Galaxy S26 Ultra could mark the first time Samsung’s flagship phones break past the 5,000mAh barrier. Furthermore, there’s talk of Samsung moving to new silicon carbon battery tech in the next year or so. This could mean a 10% boost in battery capacity without making the phone bigger, thanks to the new material’s efficiency.
Instead of just making batteries bigger, Samsung is also focusing on making them better. They’re tweaking the software, much like Apple does, to make the battery last longer through smarter One UI adjustments and managing how apps run in the background.
Just a short while ago, there was buzz from a Korean source claiming Samsung was eyeing a 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh battery for their next big phones. But, with the Galaxy S26 series set to launch in January 2026, there’s still time for more solid info to come out, especially after the launch of the Z7 foldables. It’s an exciting time to watch the tech world grow and change.
I’ll delete my Twitter account if Samsung gives the Galaxy S26 Ultra a 7000mAh or even a 6000mAh battery I bet. 🙂
“Based on my Five Sources, the internal Samsung Test Lab only seem to have a Capacity of Max 5500mAh not more”.
