Avoid magnetic cases for Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen

Samsung has released a new Clear Magnet Case for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in the United States. This case uses Qi2 technology, which allows the phones to work with Qi2 chargers and accessories.
However, if you own a Galaxy S25 Ultra, you might want to think twice before buying this or any other magnetic case. These cases can mess with how the S Pen works on Samsung’s newest phone.
S Pen Problems with Magnetic Cases
When users at Android Central tested the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a magnetic case from Fiberborne, they received a warning message saying:
“Magnetic accessories can interfere with your S Pen: The magnets in these items can disrupt the signals your S Pen sends to your phone, which might make your S Pen write incorrectly or cause accidental commands.”
Interestingly, this problem didn’t show up when using Samsung’s silicone case with a MagSafe adapter. This could be because of different case materials, the thickness of the case, or how close the magnets are to the phone.
More Reports on S Pen Issues
Over at Android Authority, testers noticed similar problems when they used the S Pen on the Galaxy S25 Ultra directly over where the magnets were in the case. The stylus didn’t function properly in these spots, but worked fine elsewhere on the phone.
This isn’t a new problem; owners of the previous Galaxy S24 Ultra reported the same issue. Many hoped the new model would fix this, but that hasn’t been the case. Also, the S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra doesn’t have Bluetooth capabilities or support for Air Actions, which might disappoint some users. Despite these issues, many are still happy with how the S Pen performs on the latest Samsung flagship.
