What is Live Caption feature on Google Chrome? How to activate it

Google Chrome has an interesting Live Caption feature that enables you to automatically generate captions for videos, podcasts, games, live streams, video calls, or other media content. Notably, audio and captions will progress locally and stay on your device.

Eventually, Chrome makes the internet more accessible after activating the live caption feature. However, if you get annoyed by seeing captions popping up to cover the content then we suggest not to turn it on.

How to activate the Live Caption feature in Google Chrome?

  • Open Google Chrome on your computer
  • Select the three-dot icon at the top-right corner of the screen
  • Look for Settings and tap it
  • Select the Accessibility section
  • Turn on the Live Caption feature
