Apple iOS 17.2 is ready to drop some significant functions on the surface and one of them is the all-new Local Awareness feature. The respective addition will use your approximate location to improve the timeliness, accuracy, and reliability of emergency alerts.
On the flip side, it will increase the probability that important alerts should reach you without any gaps. Thus, you will be able to remain connected and gain severe weather warnings, Amber alerts, or other vital notifications even in technical defects.
How to access the Apple iOS 17.2 Local Awareness feature?
- Go to the Settings menu
- Scroll down and select the Notifications section
- Click on Emergency Alerts
- Turn on the toggle of Local Awareness
