Gboard is bringing a new floating keyboard feature to avoid awkwardness when using the app in landscape mode. Perhaps, you don’t have to struggle anymore with the large layout that makes it difficult for your fingers to reach every letter.
As per the details spotted in the latest beta version (13.6.06.574113912), Google is implementing a clever solution that will overcome the landscape problem for Gboard users. The all-new keyboard will automatically switch to its floating layout when you tilt your phone.
How does the Gboard Floating Keyboard feature work?
If turn your phone to landscape mode, Gboard will automatically switch to its floating layout rather than being in the outdated landscape layout. As the term reflects, the feature will let you move the keyboard into any position using the drag handle at the bottom.
Also, it will remember where you last positioned it so in case you jump to any other application, you will find the same layout and at the same position. Don’t worry as this is not a permanent change and you can still opt for the previous layout via the bottom edge of the screen.
