How to lock the bootloader to get a HyperOS update?

  • Boot your phone into recovery mode (Power + Volume button down)
  • Connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable
  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator
  • Navigate to the platform-tools in Command Prompt
  • Type fastboot devices and hit the Enter tab
  • Now type fastboot flashing lock and press Enter
  • Confirm that you want to lock the bootloader

Note that for running the device as an administrator, you need to click on the Windows Start menu and type CMD. Thereafter, right-click the Command Prompt icon and click Run as Administrator > Yes. A major reason behind this rule is security concerns and protection of data.
