Apple testing iOS 16.6 before iOS 17 launch at WWDC | Stops Signing iOS 16.4

Apple is going to hold WWDC between June 5 to 9 this year. At the event, the company will announce iOS 17 and new software.

According to a new report, Apple is internally testing iOS 16.6, which is likely to be the last iOS 16 version. The iOS 16.6 version will be a smaller update. In the meantime, iOS 16.5 remains in beta testing.

There’s no information about the first iOS 16.6 beta release date. Based on the previous release schedule, the company released the first betas of iOS 13.6, iOS 14.6, and iOS 15.6 to developers prior to WWDC in the last three years.

In the coming weeks, we will see Apple Card’s savings account and iMessage Contact Key Verification.

Apple Stops Signing iOS 16.4:

Apple launched iOS 16.4.1 on April 7, the company has now stopped signing iOS 16.4. Users with versions bigger than iOS 16.4 won’t be able to downgrade iOS software. Apple does it to keep the iOS operating system up to date.

With iOS 16.4, Apple introduced new emoji characters, Safari Web Push Notifications, and many more features. The iOS 16.4.1 is the latest available public version of iOS.
