How to customize force sensor control in AirPods Pro?

Posted on

AirPods Pro has excellent features, such as a transparent mode with noise reduction and an in-ear design. To switch between the new features, the force sensor in the AirPods Pro stick provides easy control.

AirPods gen 1 and 2 use double-click earbuds for user control. But AirPods Pro avoids this design and instead uses a squeeze force sensor built into each earbud stem.

Long press (Apple calls it long press, but you do need two fingers) to switch between noise reduction and transparency modes, while single, double, and triple squeezing control audio playback.

How to customize AirPods Pro controls

Customizing left and right AirPod Pro-Force Sensors:

  1. On your iPhone, head to Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Tap the “i” next to your AirPods Pro (make sure they’re connected)
  3. Under “Press and Hold AirPods” choose Left or Right
  4. Customize if your AirPod Force Sensor activates Noise Control or Siri
  5. You can also choose to include “Off” in the Noise Control controls
