LG will provide a display panel for Apple’s foldable iPhone

Posted on

Apple has recently commissioned LG Display, a major Korean display maker, to develop a foldable panel, paving the way for the launch of a new flagship phone.

LG Display will assist Apple in developing a foldable OLED display panel for the iPhone. However, it is unclear whether LG Display will give this display panel for Apple and whether it can be mass-produced.

Additionally, Samsung Display is also a supplier of Apple’s OLED folding display. Previously, Samsung provided Apple with a large number of foldable display samples for testing last year. Therefore, it is unclear what the specific supplier of Apple’s folding iPhone is.

Apple has so far used OLED panels developed by LG Display and Samsung Display for iPhone, and even BOE has joined the iPhone 12 series suppliers. It is not ruled out that this rumored foldable iPhone may be provided by multiple vendors with panels.
