Asus has brought the second-generation ZenBook Duo dual-screen laptop at CES 2021. It has been redesigned to be smaller, lighter, and cooler. It also uses a new Nvidia GPU and an 11th generation Intel processor has better performance.

ZenBook Duo will come in two versions, a Pro Duo 15 OLED and a Duo 14. Pro Duo 15 OLED will be equipped with up to 10th generation Intel Core i9 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 discrete graphics, and up to 32GB of memory.

Duo 14 is furnished with the 11th generation Core i5 or i7 processor, an optional Nvidia MX450 graphics card, and up to 32GB of memory.

What really makes it stand out is the dual-display technology. Pro Duo has a 15.6-inch, 3840×2160 pixel OLED touch screen, certified by Pantone, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Matched with it is the 14-inch ultra-high-definition touch screen below. Duo 14 has a 14-inch 1920×1,080-pixel touch screen with a 12.6-inch touch screen with the same resolution.

ASUS uses a new hinge design. When the laptop lid is opened, the secondary display (called ScreenPad Plus) can be tilted 9.5 degrees on Duo Pro 15 and 7 degrees on Duo 14, providing better Viewing angle, and make the gap between the displays look smaller, it looks more like a large display than before.

Windows system can recognize ScreenPad Plus as the second monitor, so you can use it to do anything you would do with the second screen. ASUS has also prepared a bunch of practical tools for ScreenPad that can be used through the touch bar on the screen. For example, you can activate a numeric keyboard, or turn it into a giant touchpad, or write on it with the attached movable pen.

The screen brightness of the ScreenPad Plus is 400 nits higher than the previous model, so it is easier to see, reducing glare and reflection. ASUS also provides a foldable stand that can be attached to the bottom of the notebook and tilt the body upward to make the pen attached to the ScreenPad more comfortable to use.

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED is expected to be available in North America starting in April, and the price has not been announced. Duo 14 has been pre-ordered, starting at US$1,000 (about 6475 yuan).

Additionally, to Duo 15 and 14, ASUS also launched ZenBook 13 OLED, Zenbook 14, and ZenBook Flip 15. Asustek stated that Flip 15 is available now, with a starting price of US$1,150 (approximately 7446 yuan) which is ‘one of the most compact 15.6-inch convertible laptops in the world.’

ZenBook 14 is an ultra-thin notebook computer equipped with an AMD processor, using Ryzen 7 5800H processor, and an optional Nvidia MX450 graphics card. ZenBook 13 OLED is a 2.26 kg notebook with a 13.3-inch FHD OLED display and AMD Ryzen mobile processor. Asustek did not provide their pricing, and they are expected to be available in February.
