Microsoft release PowerToys v0.29.3 update, fixes multiple windows and rename bugs

Microsoft’s official free gadget suite PowerToys has recently updated the v0.29.3 version. This gadget has existed as early as the Windows XP era. It was resurrected in May 2019 and introduced to the Win10 system.

PowerToys updated to version 0.29 on December 30 but then released the v0.29.3 update. The official said that this update fixes two stability bugs of version 0.29 based on user feedback. The following is the updated content:

  • Fixed the problem that the FancyZone multi-window layout editor sometimes does not appear. This is caused by two uninitialized variables. From now on we will add additional code analysis tools to avoid such bugs.
  • The PowerRename renaming tool will cause regular expression errors. We temporarily removed the error dialog box and will add targeted updates later.

The PowerToys tool is installed, it can be accessed through shortcut keys and right-click menus, providing multiple convenient functions such as color selector, image resizing, and advanced renaming. The software needs to be downloaded on GitHub, the latest v0.29.3 version size is 18.3MB.
