As the reports of the Wall Street Journal, the German Chancellor Merkel’s cabinet confirmed the draft revision of the detailed Cyber Security Act on December 16 and will conduct strict inspections on telecommunications tools suppliers several times.

The suppliers need to inform the construction plan and tolls used. And to ensure details security, not too exposed data to foreign governments, if you violate the regulations, you will be liable.

The German government will also review factors such as diplomacy and national defense. If there are any doubts or supplier violations during the implementation, the device can be banned.

As per the report, the initiative to use key components is in the hands of German officials. If they believe that there are serious security problems with the components, they have the right to directly cancel the qualifications to use these components.

This bill still needs to be reviewed by the German Bundestag before it can be finally passed, but it has already triggered pros and cons.

According to the German cabinet, the new law deals with the entire information security issue rather than specific vendors. The key German automotive industry has close cooperation with Huawei and the Chinese market.

Therefore, German car companies and telecommunications companies are very much in favor of Huawei devices entering the German market, because such cooperation can create more benefits for them.
